Middlesex County, located in Saluda, Virginia, is seeking an Accounting Technician to coordinate and process Payroll, Accounts Payable and other financial functions of the County.
Qualified applicants must possess excellent organizational skills, the ability to multitask, be proficient in Microsoft Office products and have at least three years of related accounting/bookkeeping experience.
Essential job functions include ensuring prompt and timely payment of vendor accounts, preparation of associated accounting reports, entering and processing of the County's payroll for over 100 employees, and processing state and federal reports as needed including 1099s and W2s.
The job will also entail answering phones, greeting visitors and providing them information, ordering supplies, assisting other departments, plus other office duties that arise.

Selected candidate will have the ability to work independently, work confidentially, manage large workloads, and keep deadlines.
Position reports to the Assistant County Administrator.
