Duties
Facilitate program science advising, convene meetings of Program Scientists and location Lead Scientists, and support Program Scientists in the execution of their duties.
Assist in recruiting new science advisors and proving orientation.
Review and provide insight into 50+ project proposals per year ensuring proposals outline methodologies and appropriate use of remote sensing and Earth observations.
Foster innovation focused on end-user requirements.
Support science communication efforts and present project results at various conferences.
Chair or participate in panels at major scientific conferences, public policy forums, and events.
Ensure scientific integrity of 20+ projects through review and editing of deliverables, articles, and manuscripts for presentation, publication, and public release.
Lead and coordinate programmatic publication efforts.
Develop and sustain relationships with programmatic and project partner organizations.
Engage with potential project hosts, explaining the program, what is provided, and the program’s expectations of the project hosts.
Coordinate and collaborate with NASA Earth Action staff to align DEVELOP work with program-funded activities, promote and support coordination with the DEVELOP network, and engage with Capacity Building Program elements and initiatives.
Establish and communicate program science requirements to support contractor leadership and ensure that contract execution fulfills those requirements.
