We are currently seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Lead Grounds Worker.
This position will be based in Yorktown, VA, and will require the successful candidate to demonstrate excellent organizational and leadership skills, along with a passion for maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces.
Our Lead Grounds Worker position participates in the Ability One program; allowing individuals with significant disabilities to work in various positions within our Government Contracted positions.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for operating all equipment in a safe and efficient manner
Responsible for maintaining quality standards as determined by the Government Quality Assurance Evaluator and/or other people who are responsible for quality assurance
Responsible for maintaining a safe work area
Responsible for promoting and maintaining positive lines of communication with customers while performing their job duties
Responsible for providing quality customer service
Responsible for cleaning the equipment as instructed by the Manager- Government Contract
Responsible for adhering to all policies and procedures as set forth by VersAbility Resources and the U.
S.
Government
Assist Contracts Manager in the supervision of employees
Ensures the Statement of Work is met satisfactory, per the Government standards (set forth in the Statement of Work)
Responsible for communicating effectively, both written and orally
Assists Manager- Government Contracts in scheduling work assignments per the Statement of Work
May require the ability to drive a vehicle periodically
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
1.
High school diploma or equivalent.
2.
Proven experience in grounds maintenance, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role.
3.
Solid knowledge of landscaping techniques, horticulture practices, and equipment operation.
4.
Proficiency in the safe use and maintenance of grounds maintenance equipment, such as mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, and irrigation systems.
5.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
6.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively train and motivate a team.
7.
A keen eye for detail and a passion for maintaining beautiful and well-kept outdoor spaces.
8.
Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental standards related to grounds maintenance.
9.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks as required.
10.
Valid driver's license and the ability to operate a company vehicle if necessary.
