Sentara is seeking to hire an experienced individual to join our team as a Community Benefit Project Manager.
Note: Candidate must have experience leading & managing community health, health equity and CHNA strategies.
Position Status: Full-time, Day Shift Standard Working Hours: 8:00AM to 5:00PM (Note: must have flexibility to work during evenings and weekends for special events as needed).
Position Location: This is a Hybrid position that will require frequent travel.
The ideal candidate will be local to the Peninsula region as this position with support Sentara Careplex and Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical center markets (must be willing to travel for community and system events).

We are committed to quality healthcare, improving health every day, and provide the opportunity for training, development, and growth! #Indeed Talroo Monster CIRCA The Community Benefit Project Manager supports management of all aspects of community benefit which will include advancing health equity, grant partner engagement, CHNA report and implementation strategies, and overall community benefit to designated market area priorities and system strategies.
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing complex processes which may include, but not limited to, grants management, CHNA survey development and implementation, Community Benefit development and reporting, creation of reports and presentations used by internal market leaders and corporate executives, collaboration with external stakeholders, and partnership with CEI team and community members to analyze future program opportunities.
Identifies, prioritizes and implements best practices related to advance health equity and foster alignment of community giving strategies, community health needs assessments, and community benefit planning and reporting.
Develops evidence-informed proposals to address community engagement priorities.
Works closely with the grants team to evaluate grants, provides technical assistance as needed, monitoring/reporting of use of funds and impact, and collaborates with the team to provide analysis of grant applications that align with CHNA priorities.
Ensures alignment within identified community needs with Sentara CHNA priority issues to develop evidence-informed proposals around community health.
Supports development and expansion of key community relationships with community organizations, advocacy groups, political/community leaders, and others.
Master's degree in Public Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or related field.
Three or more years’ experience with community benefit management to include grants management or community health needs assessment process and publication required.
Experience with CHNA and Community Health Improvement Plans (CHIP)preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficient in data collection and analysis of community needs, grant making, strong analytic and technical skills required.
Knowledge and Capture of Community Benefit is required, as well as experience working with community organizations.
Salesforce or database management preferred.
The candidate selected will partner with the CEI, Health Equity and hospital teams to develop and develop and foster growth of overall community benefit strategies.
This will include support of grant/partner management, CHNA process and implementation development, community benefit growth and reporting, and alignment with health equity strategies.
Ensures Alignment within identified community needs with Sentara Community Health Needs Assessment priority issues to develop evidence-informed proposals around community health.
Supports development and expansion of key community relationships with community organizations, advocacy groups, political/community leaders, and others.
