Summary: Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) provide direct care to adults with ID/DD who have co-occurring medical diagnoses.
This position will be responsible for performing day to day tasks such as personal care, community and onsite engagement, housekeeping, medication administration, and record keeping.
The care provided is compassionate and unrestrictive; always ensuring the person is living a meaningful life.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Utilize skills obtained through CNA program to ensure quality medical care is given.
Support individuals with daily personal tasks, including bathing, dressing, and using the restroom.
Provide supports with housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, moping, dusting, washing dishes, completing laundry, and tidying up.
Prepare meals and help with feeding.
Administering medications via mouth or G-tube.
Encourage participation and engagement in the community by carrying out planned activities and giving rides.
Complete daily documentation of progress toward ISP goals, medication administration, falls, food diaries, vitals, bowel movements, blood sugars, repositioning, etc.
Utilize healthcare supplies and equipment such as lifts, thermometer, blood pressure cuff, and diabetic meters.
Coordinate and communicate with the supervisor and medical team for the best function of the home and in the best interest of the individuals.
